The driver of a car involved in a fatal crash with a bus yesterday morning has been named by police.

Delano Moore, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene after his Audi A4 carrying three other passengers collided with a N38 bus in Lea Bridge Road, just outside of the Lee Valley Ice Centre in Leyton at around 2:20am.

The father-of-three from Chingford had been travelling along the open stretch of the road when the accident took place with the double-decker bus carrying passengers on route to Whipps Cross.

Police have said the front passenger of the Audi A4 remains in a critical condition, and the two back-seat passengers are in a serious but stable condition at an east London hospital.

The driver of the night bus was released from hospital yesterday afternoon with minor injuries described as 'bumps and bruises'.

Ambulance crews also treated around 10 'walking wounded' bus commuters for minor injuries, with some of them being taken to hospital by another bus supplied by Transport for London.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward immediately.

In particular, the driver of a car travelling with, or closely behind Mr Moore who police claim could be a vital witness in the crash currently being investigated by the serious collision unit at Chadwell Heath.

No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact the Witness Appeal line on 020 8597 4874 or via 101.
