A new sentencing date has been set for a Walthamstow woman convicted of storing her boyfriend's double-barrelled, sawn-off shotgun in her bedroom.
Shereen Lawrence, 34, of Hillcrest Road, and boyfriend Sunny Taiwo, 34, of Holt Road in Beckton, were due to be sentenced today at the Inner London Crown Court after months of delays due to Judge Roger Chapple falling ill in March.
Judge Chapple has now returned but the sentencing has been postponed for a week as the court says the defence counsel is not ready.
Lawrence was convicted of possessing a prohibited firearm and Taiwo was convicted of 10 firearms offences on Februarry 4.
The 34 year-old Hillcrest Road resident has been released on bail and Taiwo was remanded in custody.
They are both due to be sentenced on June 12.
