Two women involved in a collision this morning have been taken to hospital. 

Ambulance services were called to the A406 southbound between junction 4 of the M11 and the A12 Eastern Avenue just before 10am.

The accident involved a car and a 4X4 with two females both aged 25 receiving treatment for head and back injuries.

They have been taken to Royal London Hospital as a priority and the outside lane remains closed.  

In the same hour, a second collision occured between a car and a lorry eastbound on the A406 at the approach to the Charlie Brown's Roundabout. 

One ambulance crew was called at around 10:40am but did not treat any patients. This stretch of the A406 has fully re-opened.
