Story one

Eighty litres of counterfeit vodka and 13,000 cigarettes were seized by police in a two-day sting operation in Waltham Forest.

And it has been revealed that Operation Condor, which took place over the last bank holiday weekend, also found four shops willing to sell knives to children.

Police cadets were used to 'test purchase' weapons across the borough.

Story two

Homes in Waltham Forest are some of the most likely to be burgled in London, according to rent advisors.

This week, Metropolitan Police figures for burglary were analysed for all London boroughs by website Rentonomy.

They found more burglaries were reported in Croydon, Waltham Forest, Islington and Marylebone than anywhere else in London.

Story three

The driver of a car involved in a fatal crash with a bus yesterday morning has been named by police.

Delano Moore, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene after his Audi A4 carrying three other passengers collided with a N38 bus in Lea Bridge Road, just outside of the Lee Valley Ice Centre in Leyton at around 2:20am.

The father-of-three from Chingford had been travelling along the open stretch of the road when the accident took place with the double-decker bus carrying passengers on route to Whipps Cross.

Story four

Commuters have criticised a decision not to replace “disgusting” trains for three years on a major line through Waltham Forest.

This week Transport for London (TfL) announced there will be a delay in replacing the fleet on the line between Chingford and Liverpool Street when it becomes part of the Overground network in May next year.

TfL has said all trains will be cleaned but passengers claim that this is not enough.

Story five

An unemployed man was given the shock of his life this morning when he took delivery of a brand new Porsche.

Andrew Boyce had been out in his old Ford Escort today when he returned to Oakland Road in Leyton to see the £53,000 car sat outside his house, along with an excited crowd of neighbours.

Mr Boyce won the top spec Boxster GTS and £10,000 after winning a 'spot the ball' competition at Westfield in Stratford
