A  man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving following an accident near a busy roundabout. 

Police, ambulance services and firefighters were called to the scene near the Green Man roundabout in Leytonstone on Tuesday at 7:35pm following reports of a collision.

The accident on the A12 towards Stratford involved three vehicles and all three lanes were immediately closed.

Several people were treated for minor injuries in hospital and have all since been discharged.   

A 35-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink-driving and has been bailed to return at the end of July.
