The first Labour leader with majority control of Redbridge Council is to be sworn in tonight.

Cllr Jas Athwal will be the focus of the ceremony at Redbridge Town Hall, in High Road, Ilford, at 7.15pm.

He will take over from Conservative Keith Prince, after Labour took control of the council from a Tory/Lib Dem coalition in last month's election.

It is the first meeting of the full newly-elected council.

Sadly,New Labour are in control of Redbridge Council.

35, of them compared with 25 Conservatives and 3 Lib-Dems.

In my opinion,Labour is in control, because of people who voted for UKIP and in Aldborough ward an independent, who got over 1000 votes.

Hopefully, next May,the electorate,in the constituency of Ilford North, will realise, that voting for anybody, other than the Conservative,Lee Scott MP. will probably result in a Labour MP. in Ilford North.

God help us,for Redbridge Council. I feel sorry, for the excellent Council officers,we have. Labour pledges, will they deliver them?

Thankfully,in four years,we have another election. However, let us see,if anybody leaves the Labour group, within the next four years. The Labour group has a history of this.

God help us??? This is what the people of Redbridge voted for.

They realised what a bunch of scumbags the Tories are. Well done to them.

T.Watts, what a sad little posting, you have posted.

Far from, what you wrote,we will be working hard to,get Lee Scott M.P. elected, next year. Also, the 25 Conservative Councillors, will demonstrate their abilities, compared to the Labour Group.

Let us see,if Labour delivers, what they have pledged to do. I,doubt it.
