A child has suffered a suspected fractured skull after being hit by a bus during the evening rush-hour.
Police were called to High Road in Leyton at 5:30pm yesterday following reports of a collision involving a bus and a child.
London ambulance service and the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) attended the scene and treated a 10 year-old girl for a serious head injury.
She was taken by HEMS land ambulance to an east London hospital where she remains.
The road was fully re-opened at 8:30pm and no arrests have been made but enquiries continue.
Police have been contacted for an update on the victim's condition.
