A petition is calling for a bid to turn an old people’s home into a bed and breakfast to be rejected.

A total of 150 people have objected to the proposal by Patrick and Bridget Bell for the site in Aldersbrook Road, Wanstead.

The petition says: “We believe this will impact adversely on the residential character of the Aldersbrook Conservation Area, which will have two major bed and breakfast hostels within less than a hundred meters of each other in an area with very few social facilities."

A date for a decision on the application is yet to be set.

The very kind of situation for which area committees and regional planning committees have hitherto existed - both to be abolished by the Labour Storm Troopers.

That's right Mozzy! That pesky Labour Party! Those evil monsters are responsible for ALL the ills in our area!

There are probably a few Romanians involved along the way too...

Labour's Bliar living up to his nickname over the weekend, not in power as such anymore and still calling for wars from the touch line.

The Iraq War and the overthrow of Saddam Hussein - a B&B opening in Aldersbrook. Yes! You're right, I can see a direct parallel.
