A 21-year-old man was shot in a Chingford street in the early hours of this morning.
Police said he is in a stable condition in hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound in Silver Birch Avenue, between Westward Road and Burnside Avenue, at around 1am.
An ambulance was called to the scene, but a relative of the victim had already taken him to hospital.
No one has been arrested.
A car with bullet holes in it has been towed away by police.
Police have urged anyone with information to contact 101 with more information.
