A 21-year-old was shot during a drive-by in a residential street.

Residents in Silver Birch Avenue, Chingford, have described hearing shots and seeing a car speeding off in the early hours of this morning.

According to one man, who asked not to be named, the victim was shot as he returned to his black Ford Fiesta, which was peppered with bullets.

The victim is described as being in a stable condition after being taken to hospital by a relative before emergency services arrived.

Several residents told the Guardian they heard three gun shots in quick succession and then the noise of a car engine being revved before it sped off.

No arrests have been made.

More on this story in Thursday's Chingford Guardian and Waltham Forest Guardian.

This is in Chingford not Walthamstow. "ferals" as you put it are in every area where people live now why single out Hackney or Walthamstow. Might I suggest you return too school and learn not only geography but the facts and figures of where crime happens, who commits these crimes and type of crime. I live in Chingford Hall so does that make everybody that lives there the same, unless you have the facts don't make assumptions or statements about things you know nothing about

Crime is occurring in Chingford regularly, stabbings last week, shootings this?

As for schooling, maybe it is you who should return 'too' school.

I single out Hackney as it remains an area high in gun and knife crime also.

Takes you two responses to get there in the end? Well done Spurs Supporter. Was a simple question. You got there in the end........unlike Spurs.
