A secondary school has been closed for the day after a fire ripped through part of the building this morning.
The fire, which is thought to have been caused by an electrical fault, happened in the resources room at Rushcroft Foundation School in Rushcroft Road, Chingford.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters from Chingford, Walthamstow and Woodford fire stations were called at 6.35am after staff at the school raised the alarm.
Thick smoke was spotted bellowing from the resources room, situated in the heart of school grounds.
There are no reports of injuries and the blaze was under control by 7:45am.
The cause of fire is under investigation and the school is expected to resume as normal on Monday.
