Would-be poets are being sought to represent Chigwell in a national competition.

A poet will be selected from each town in the UK which enters, with the winner receiving £1,000.

They will also receive a free copy of the National poetry anthology, containing poems from all entrants.

Entrants should send three unpublished poems of up to 25 lines and 160 words, to United Press Ltd, Admail 3735, London, EC1B.

The closing date is Monday June 30.

Entry is free.
