Ongar hosted its annual carnival yesterday with crowds basking in the weekend sunshine.
The crowds were treated to spectacles such as themed floats, a marching band and troupe of majorettes.
The carnival concluded at Chipping Ongar Primary School’s summer fete.
Headmistress Bridget Hill described the event as “a real community day”, with the fete being organised by the Chipping Ongar Primary School Association in collaboration with local businesses, clubs, and the school’s own Year 6 students who ran their own stalls.
Attractions included a beer tent, water zorbing (aided by Ongar fire station), and coconut shies.
