The daughter of a man who died at Auschwitz has given a talk at the latest meeting of a probus club.
The event at the Lindsey Street Community Association (LSCA) premises in Frampton Road, Epping, hosted Eva Clarke from the Holocaust Educational Trust on June 18.
She spoke to 56 members and guests, as part of a Ladies Luncheon Meeting, about her family’s experience of the Holocaust before the end of the Second World War in 1945.
She described how her parents were first taken to Terezini Theresienstadt in 1941, before being moved to the infamous Auschwitz Berkeneau where her father was subsequently killed in January 1945.
Weeks after she was born, in April 1945, they were liberated.
They relocated to Cardiff from Prague in 1948, and she now lives in Cambridge.
Retired or semi retired men who are interested in joining Epping Probus should contact the club secretary, Peter Francis on 01992 573188.
