A baker has donated £1,700 to a hospice after putting on a cake sale.

Michelle Van Lint, of Derby Road, South Woodford, collected the money for Haven House children's hospice in High Road, Woodford Green, at the fundraising cake sale, which she holds annually.

There was also a raffle and shoe sale in aid of the hospice on June 13, but Mrs Van Lint is already looking forward to next year.

The 42-year-old said: “Thank you to everyone who came along and helped - what an amazing day we had.

“It was exhausting, but I am already thinking about next year’s event, which will be the 10th anniversary - I am hoping to raise more than ever.”

Congratulations to Mrs Lint on raising so much dough for such a worthy cause. It's great to see a member of the much maligned banking community doing such good work for local causes, I imagine her pies had a (credit) crunchy topping. My favourite is Cherry ie just like Agent Cooper used to eat on the popular TV show "Twin Peaks".
