Students received tips and advice from a Wanstead and Woodford Guardian reporter during a project to make their own school newspapers.
Students starting at Wanstead High School, in Redbridge Lane West, Wanstead in September were involved in today’s project to put together a newspaper about life in secondary school.
The project was organised by staff at the school to help prepare them for the transition to the higher tier of education.
More than 30 pupils visited the school today to hear a speech by Wanstead and Woodford Guardian reporter Douglas Patient to learn about journalism and how to write an article and conduct an interview.
Douglas said: "I am really happy to be involved in a project like this, I remember the experience of moving to a secondary school and it was not easy."
