Armed Forces Day was celebrated on Sunday with a parade through Ilford town centre.
Redbridge-based troops and cadets marched down High Road, Ilford in celebration of the day which shows support for the army.
Organised by both the Royal British Legion and Redbridge council, the annual national event has been held since 2009.
Jack Weedon, Chairman of the Ilford branch of the legion said: "The event is relatively new but it is very important.
"The day is to commemorate the acting armed forces in Britain so people can understand what it is doing and keep people aware.
"Most of the events similar to this are to remember the fallen and they forget the armed forces in the present day are active and need support."
