Police have formally identified the body found in woodland as missing man Christopher Simmons.
Mr Simmons, of Roding Lane South in Clayhall, was last seen on June 24 at 2.15pm when he left his home for a walk.
Today police confirmed the body of a 50-year-old man, found on Friday in a wooded area near to Roding Lane South, was in fact Mr Simmons.
Next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination is due to be conducted.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious and officers from Redbridge are investigating.
