An Ilford school been praised by Ofsted as an ‘outstanding’ provider of education following an inspection earlier this month.
The official recognition from independent schools watchdog Ofsted means the Isaac Newton Academy, in Cricklefield Place, Ilford, is now one of the top schools in the country.
Inspectors highlighted the academy’s “specialisation in music and mathematics”. They said pupils were very proud of being able to learn a big band instrument and “really enjoy music making”.
Principal Rachel Macfarlane said: “It’s great to be able to share this praise with all our staff, students, parents and the community who are supporting us.
“We won’t rest on our laurels.”
Pupils at Isaac Newton will be performing at a special gala concert being organised by ARK Schools on Monday at the Barbican Centre.
