An appeal for information has been launched by police after a shop worker was robbed at knifepoint in an affluent area. 

The business in Epping High Street was targeted on May 17 at around 11:25pm when a man, thought to be in his late teens, entered the shop and demanded money.

When the suspect's demands were refused, he pulled out a knife, requested money again and then reached over the counter, grabbed £45 and ran off.

Essex Police have been unable to trace the suspect described as white, around 6ft tall, with dark brown hair and facial moles.

No CCTV image or E-fit of the suspect has been released and the premise owner does not want any details of his business released.

During the armed robbery, the suspect aged between 16 and 20 was wearing a dark hooded top.
