Dedicated residents with learning disabilities have engaged in free sporting activities to coincide with Learning Disability Week.  

Over 200 service users of Walthamstow's Pool and Track in Chingford Road, took part in the sports day fun at the venue on June 26.

A large team of fifty support staff geared up residents as they participated in a sponsored run, athletics, football, swimming, cricket, wheelchair basketball, curling, and sitting volleyball.

Labour cabinet member for adult services, cllr Angie Bean said: "These are always lively events and they can really help everyone keep fit, enjoy the different activities, try their hand at something new and meet new people."

The annual awareness week was celebrated this year between June 16 and 26.
