A leading animal charity has spoken out about a "callous" attack on a cat after it was shot in the eye.
The owners of the 10 year-old moggy named 'Alfie' believed their cat had been in a fight when it returned to their home in Mead Crescent, Chingford, with blood around his eye.
However, after taking Alfie to the vets, a surgeon found an air gun pellet lodged behind his eye and surgery was required to have his left eye removed.
