A meeting has been arranged for organisers of sports clubs to ensure they are getting the correct support over concerns about the health of Waltham Forest residents.

In 2010 Waltham Forest was ranked the 15th most deprived borough in England, with average life expectancy for men just 77 years- eight years lower than in West London.

As part of the HealthyE17 campaign, Walthamstow MP Stella Creasy is hoping to combat this.

A ‘meet the funders’ workshop has been organised so that small sports clubs can find out how to get help, to keep them going.

A drop in event will bring representatives of organisations who can provide funding to Walthamstow so that local representatives of groups providing these activities can meet with them.

The event is free and will run from 6-8pm at a sporting venue in Walthamstow.

Clubs are asked to register with the MP's office to obtain full details of the venue by calling Clark on 020 8521 1223 or emailing him on clark@workingforwalthamstow.org.uk.
