Redbridge council offer free bike storage for safer cycling around London

East London and West Essex Guardian Series: Council offers free bike storage in your home Council offers free bike storage in your home

Redbridge residents can apply for a free bike storage unit for their home.

As part of a Transport for London funded scheme, the council is giving people safe and convenient cycle storage to help them make more journeys by bike.

There are around 20,000 bike thefts reported to the Metropolitan police each year.

However, only one in every five bikes stolen are ever believed to be reported, so the number could be closer to 100,000 a year.
