I have ventured outside of my usual road remit of potholes to bring you up to speed on a sizeable sinkhole which has appeared in a residential road.
Essex County Council revealed today the broken bitumen in Hill Road, Theydon Bois, which appeared a month ago would be repaired in the next two weeks.
Linda Cox from the road said: “The worry is we do not know what is under the hole, or how far it extends.
“I feel irritation we have not been informed, and we have no control over when it is dealt with.”
Neighbours say the cavernous crater was coned off and safety signage erected when the horror hole was first reported on June 8.
