Haven House Hospice held its annual summer fair in the wooded grounds of Mallinson Park.

1,500 people attended the event, raising £10,000 in the process.

The money raised for the hospice will go into a general fund to help support local life-limited children and families. Haven House children’s hospice has been providing specialist care for children and young people who have life-limiting conditions.

Children were entertained with a visit from Woodford Fire Brigade, Gary Lucy and the Leyton Orient mascot.

Paradise wildlife Park in Broxbourne, also brought along a variety of animals and reptiles for the local children to interact with. Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House, said: “The summer fair gets better every year and we’re always looking at new ways to keep it fresh and exciting for the families who attend.”

“Thank you to everyone who helped to make the event a success, not least the 100 fantastic volunteers who got involved and to everyone who came along on the day.”
