The public are being invited to have their say at a forum on the controversial proposed move of a post office tomorrow.

Plans have been drawn up for Barkingside Post Office to move from its current location 85 metres up High Street, Barkingside, into the current Cooperative store, to become part of a franchise with Quidsaver.

A final decision on the move will be made on July 23 by the Post Office, after taking views into account from a six-week consultation with the public.

Campaigners including deputy leader of Redbridge council Wes Streeting, are worried the downsize will mean a reduced service.

The Post Office deny these claims saying the new store will offer the same service as the current store.

Representatives from the company will discuss the proposed plans in Aldborough Room at Fullwell Cross Library, in High Street, Barkingside, from 4pm to 8pm tomorrow.
