Schoolchildren from Waltham Forest have been awarded for their imaginative story-telling.
Leon Dudley, 7, of The Jenny Hammond Primary School in Worsley Road, Leytonstone, Havin Celik, 8, of Downsell Primary School in Leyton, and Ka'shi, 10, of South Grove Primary School in Ringwood Road, Walthamstow were the chosen winners of the literacy project.
Their fictional stories of a growing monster under the Olympic Stadium and a witch battling a dragon in the tower were singled out by the Brighter Futures literacy programme, Olympic Park charity The Legacy List and Beanstalk, a children's literacy charity.
Over 20 volunteers worked with the 60 children to provide one-to-one reading support ahead of their submissions.
The three winners have each won a family ticket to see the London Lions basketball team play at the Copper Box Arena next month.
