Pizza Express will open a new branch in a multi-million development.

The chain has confirmed it will open a restaurant in The Scene, on the former arcade site in Walthamstow.

It will join brands including Nando’s and Turtle Bay in Cleveland Place later this year.

The £30million development includes a nine-screen Empire cinema complex, 121 homes and five commercial spaces.

I was hoping for a Wimpy bar or a large Pie and Mash shop but this is good news for Leyton Orient's new Italian owner Francesco Becchetti who will be there for a pizza the action. I don't see why they need to build a nine-screen Empire cinema complex on the arcade site now that the McMuffin Cinema Club are reopning the Walthamstow Granada cinema next door.

Better than some ramshackle chicken shop, but still unhealthy carbs and sugars that cost them around a pound to make for resale at whatever they sell them for. 'Two for one deals'. Still earn fortunes.

The Cinema Club will probably have more vegetarian options together with some ethnic choices. All in all, exciting times ahead.

You've forgotten you're supposed to be a vegetarian again. Next you'll be forgetting who you are "er, am I mash today? dave? billy? cornbeefur?"

Drive your cab to a psychiatrist mate.

No mention of the independent restaurant who was complaining of being frozen out a few months back, as a result of which a local petition was started; has that fizzled out?
