The fire service in Essex was called fourteen times for help during their two hour strike yesterday.
A number of firefighters who are not on strike attended incidents, although capability was reduced during the walk-out.
Incidents included a house fire in Abridge and a car crash between J27 and 28 of the M25.
Members of the Fire Brigade Union went on strike between 5pm and 7pm yesterday evening as the union leaders continue to row with the government about pay and pensions.
Further strike action is planned ended at 8am this morning and more walk-outs are expected over the weekend.
Union members will strike between 11pm and 1am today and tomorrow and will also walk out tomorrow morning between 11am and 1pm, then again on Sunday between 5pm and 7pm.
