Waltham Forest charity 'Thuso' is hosting a sponsored bike ride for South African children this weekend

A Waltham Forest charity helping to fund care for children in South Africa will hold a fundraising 'Mandela ride' on Sunday.

Orgainsed to celebrate 20 years of freedom in the country, the Thuso Mandela Cycleride will leave Grosvenor Park Road in Walthamstow at 10am.

The group will then set off towards Chingford, High Beach and North Weald on forest tracks and minor roads into Essex, before returning to Walthamstow on 10, 20 or 40 mile routes.

Cllr Terry Wheeler, mayor of Waltham Forest, and Mmapula Tladi-Small, chair of Thuso, will attend the send off.
