Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash which left five people in hospital.
A grey Honda Jazz driven by a 72-year-old man from Chingford was in a collision with a black Rover driven by a 21-year-old man from Debden at 4.30pm on Thursday in Dowding Way, Waltham Abbey.
An air ambulance attended and the Honda driver and his 66-year-old passenger were taken to The Royal London Hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.
A girl aged five, who suffered a broken collar bone, and a boy aged three, who sustained minor cuts, were also travelling in the Honda and taken to hospital.
The driver of the Rover was taken to Princess Alexander Hospital in Harlow and discharged after treatment for cuts and bruises.
There are no reports of any arrests.
