Brownies have donated 1,500 sachets of cat food as part of work required for a badge celebrating the organisation’s centenary.
The Big Brownie Birthday badge, introduced this year, requires nine challenges to be completed.
The Kit for Kittens challenge undertaken by 2nd Chigwell Brownies was part of a Community Challenge, one of the nine requirements.
The project saw Brownies donate food and cat litter to Chestnut Cat Sanctuary, a self-funded cat rescue centre in High Road, Thornwood.
Megan Petty, 10, from Lambourne Primary School collected 766 sachets which Bownie leaded Katie Russell heralded as “an outstanding achievement”.
