A crash on the M25 is causing widespread delays on rush hour roads.

The accident involved two lorries in a roadworks area and resulted in an oil spillage on the anticlockwise section of the M25 near the Waltham Abbey turn off.

There is queueing traffic for 16 miles anti-clockwise between J26 for Waltham Abbey and J25, or A10 for Enfield.

Ambulance services were called to the scene at 5:15am following reports of two HGV vehicles colliding and sent a rapid response team, but there were no reports of injuries.

Two lanes are currently closed with delays of up to two hours expected in the roadworks areas as recovery work takes place.

There are tailbacks on the M11 southbound between junction six for the M25 and junction four for the A406 North Circular in South Woodford, leading all the way back to the Crooked Billet roundabout.

Other minor roads are affected.
