Pupils with special educational needs have been treated to a ‘sensory safari’ and bird-watching trip.
Students from Oak View School in Whitehills Road, Loughton, visited WaterWorks Centre nature reserve in Lammas Road, Leyton, where they were encouraged to use all five senses to learn about their surroundings.
It included listening for birds and insects and using a bird hide to spot a number of native birds.
The trip was organised by Lee Valley Regional Park Authority’s Youth and Schools service.
