A pub which had its licence revoked by the council is continuing to serve customers after an appeal was lodged by the owners.
The Lord Brooke, in Shernhall Street, Walthamstow, was described as a ‘drug haven’ by police officers who raided the premises in March.
Desilu Estates Limited took over the running over the pub in 2010. The company applied to turn the pub into a hostel the same year but planning consent was denied.
However, during police investigations it was discovered that they have been running the East London Hostel above the pub.
The licence was revoked by the council on June 4, but Desilu Estates have lodged an appeal meaning that, until the process has been completed, customers will continue to be served.
A spokesman for the council said it could be ‘some time’ before the next hearing.
