A road in Loughton has been closed by Essex police after a serious road accident involving a car and a pedestrian. 

Emergency services were called to Goldings Hill in Loughton just before 8.50am to reports of a road traffic collision. 

The road has been closed by police until further notice and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.

Long queues are being reported in the area and on Earl's Path towards Loughton from the Robin Hood roundabout.
