West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison has been remanded in custody after being charged with attacking his ex-girlfriend and her mother. 

The 21-year-old faces two counts of common assault following an incident on Sunday at a bar in Manchester and later at a house.

Morrison, of Urmston in Trafford, is accused of attacking his 19-year-old ex girlfriend outside a bar in Manchester in the early hours of Sunday. 

He is also accused of attacking her again and her 39 year-old mother hours later at a house in Alexandra Road in Salford.

Morrison was arrested on Wednesday and appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today. 

He has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on August 7.
