A local chef helped children bake cakes at a church yesterday.

Loughton Methodist Church in High Road, Loughton, hosted a special baking day with Latifa Kapasi, who owns Fabulicious Baking School in the same street, helping children make cupcakes.

She said “This is my first time at Holiday Club and we had great fun creating all manner of delights."

Rev Oseias Da Silva minister of Loughton Methodist Church said: “This is a first for me too and I can see just how much everyone enjoys their time at Holiday Club.

"Sowing the seeds at an early age and developing our young people’s work is all part of our outreach in the local community."

It was a part of the week-long holiday club at the church where around 160 youngsters are also taking part in hula-hooping and skipping.
