A court date has been set for a man accused of causing the death of a pensioner to enter a plea.

Josh Benjamin, 22, of Southern Drive in Loughton, appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday charged with causing the death of Emelie Buckner by dangerous driving.

He was due to enter a plea but the case was adjourned until August 11 as the case was being reviewed.

Mr Benjamin was released on unconditional bail.

Mr Benjamin's white Ford Transit collided with Emelie Buckner in Oakwood Hill, Loughton, at around 7.30am on October 10.

The 78-year-old was walking her dog at the time and she died at the scene.
