Firefighters fought a house fire in a converted loft this weekend.

The fire was in St George’s Road, Ilford, on Saturday night, and most of the property was destroyed.

A woman, man and child managed to get out of the property before fire services arrived, and the man was treated for minor burns to his hand.

Four engines attended the fire at 8.20pm and the fire was under control by 9.18pm.

The fire service said the cause is believed to be an electrical fault.
