Families enjoyed a day of free activities including woodcarving archery and horse drawn woodland tours.
The Working Woodland Day organised by GreenAcres Woodland Burials in Kiln Road, Epping, saw 800 people taking part in more than 40 activities on offer.
Julia Rolf, Woodland Manager, said: “It’s a good way of to showcasing our woodland but also a great way of showing the importance of woodland crafts and it gives kids a chance to get back in touch with nature.
“It’s also a way to remind people they can visit and enjoy the woodland at any time even if they don't have anyone buried here.”
Visitors also enjoyed ferret racing and birds of prey at the sixth free annual event.
