A West Ham midfielder charged with two counts of assault has been released on bail following a private court hearing this morning. 

Ravel Morrison is accused of attacking his 19 year-old ex-girlfriend Reah Mansoor and and her mother Parveen Mansoor, 39. 

The 21-year-old faces two counts of common assault following an incident on Sunday at a bar in Manchester and later at a house.

Morrison, of Urmston in Trafford, is accused of attacking his ex girlfriend outside a bar in Manchester in the early hours of Sunday. 

He is also accused of attacking her again and her mother hours later at a house in Alexandra Road in Salford.

Morrison was arrested on Wednesday and appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today where he was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on August 7. 

He was granted bail this morning by Judge Michael Henshall following a private hearing at Manchester Crown Court.
