Five teenagers have been arrested after a 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted.

The victim was attacked by a group of boys in a block of flats in Essex Road and again shortly afterwards in Stoneydown Park in Walthamstow on July 27. 

Officers carried out arrests over three days between Tuesday and Thursday afternoon last week. 

Four boys aged 14 and one aged 13 were arrested last week on suspicion of sexual assault and bailed.

Detectives from the Sexual Offences Exploitation and Child Abuse Command are still appealing for people with information to come forward. 

They are keen to speak with anyone who was in the park or area on July 27 between 5pm and 9pm and may have a seen a distressed girl or large group of youths.
