A group is inviting people to help them campaign for standards of patient transport.

Redbridge Transport Action Group is meeting today from 1pm to 3pm at Forest House, in Clements Road, Ilford.

The campaign, Sick of Waiting, is for reliable, accessible patient transport for everyone who needs it.

The action group wants to see minimum standards on waiting time and eligibility criteria written into patient transport contracts.

It also wants to ensure that hospital trusts have the power to hold to account the private companies who deliver patient transport.

At the meeting, direction will be provided on how people can get involved in the campaign, and refreshments will be provided.

A representative from the Barking, Havering and Redbridge University NHS Trust, which owns King George and Queen's hospitals in Goodmayes and Romford, will be there along with someone from the Redbridge Health Watch.
