Traffic on Cranbrook Road, Barkingside, has returned to normal.
A 10-year-old boy has been taken to hospital with serious leg injuries after being hit by a car this afternoon.
The boy was taken to Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel as a priority after the collision in Cranbrook Road, Barkingside.
The road was closed southbound towards Gants Hill Roundabout for two hours, but traffic has now returned to normal.
Police and ambulance services were called to the scene around 12.20pm.
No arrests were made but Redbridge police are investigating the incident.
