An eight-year-old schoolgirl is set to take on a series of summer challenges to raise money for Haven House Children's Hospice.
Georgie Myles, who attends Nazeing Primary School, will take on a 15km walk up a mountain in the Peak District, a 5km run around Holme Pierrepont Lake in Nottingham and a 15-minute, nonstop hula-hoop challenge.
Georgie said: “I really wanted to do something in my summer holiday, when dad said about raising money for charity I really liked the idea. I am quite nervous but very, very excited, my first one is next week.
“I wanted to help local children less fortunate than me, as I know how lucky I am to be fit and well.
“I like to take on a challenge and I thought it would be a great way to spend the summer helping to raise money for others.
The schoolgirl, who has already raised £240, which is four times her original target of £60, will also challenge herself to write a story using the name of each sponsor as a character, as well as eat no chocolate for a week, which she thinks "will be the most difficult part".
