An appeal for has been launched to help find a vulnerable man missing from Waltham Forest. 

Police are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare and safety of Tamay Nidai, a 39 year-old resident living at Highams Lodge Care Home in The Avenue, Highams Park. 

He left the care home on Monday at around 9.30am and was spotted later that afternoon in Walthamstow. 

Mr Nidai, of Turkish nationality, has not been seen since. 

Care home manager Tara Davis said Mr Nidai has always returned after 24 hours. 

She said: "Tamay has not taken his medication for five days so his mental health may have deteriorated. 

"He might appear confused and disorientated. 

"He has gone missing before but has always returned the next morning. There was no reason to suspect anything was different."

Mr Nidai is described as 6ft 2ins tall and of a slim build. He was clean shaven and wearing a dark red parka-style jacket on the day he went missing. 

He is known to frequent the Walthamstow Market area and he may attempt to travel to Wales.
