The 10-year-old boy left with serious leg injuries after being hit by a car is in a stable condition in hospital.

He was taken to Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel as a priority after the collision around 12.20pm on Thursday in Cranbrook Road, Barkingside.

The road was closed southbound towards Gants Hill Roundabout for two hours due to the incident outside Gants Hill Library.

Redbridge police are asking any witnesses or anyone with information to call 101.
