Young children and their families have been learning how to navigate in the forest using maps and a compass.

The ‘Forest Families’ event at Epping Forest Field Centre in High Beech was aimed at five to 11-year-olds and run by the Field Studies Council.

Other family events are run at the centre throughout the year offering activities such as survival skills, arts and crafts and pond dipping.
